On Sunday, September 19, we'll say goodbye & thank you to Lois Groen as she retires. Lois will be here all morning long. Come to worship (any service), have a piece of cake, and wish Lois well as she & Ken move to Des Moines.

We Have a Blast Bowling!
We're FoC's Lickety Splits bowling team & we're kicking off another great year! We bowl every other Saturday at Country Club Lanes, Excelsior, 6:45 PM. The season runs Sept. 18 through April. $30/couple/week. Singles are welcome, too. All levels. We need regulars & subs. After the games, we have even more fun at Applebee's! Contact Melanie Wegner.

Luther Seminary Lay Classes Want to know more about the Dead Sea Scrolls? Or the love stories in the Bible? Maybe you'd like to explore "The Big Questions: Science & Christian Faith." These are just a few of the offerings at Luther's 2010/2011 lay school. Classes meet on Mondays, either at noon or 7:00 PM, and run for five weeks. Book of Faith: The Conversation is Growing Whether you're looking for a foundational course to start your conversation, or looking to dig deeper into scripture, these new resources feature thought-provoking, engaging, and helpful insights for adult and youth Bible study. Session 1 - The Study of John will meet on September 30, October 7, 14, 28, November 4, 11, 18, and December 2. Our Book of Faith Bible study will meet from 7-8:30 PM. Sessions are pastor-led with small group discussion. We'll explore historical/cultural context, look at the characters, story line and themes, and consider the meaning of the text for faithful living.
