Children's Ministry

Children's Ministry is composed of three teams all working together to implement programming for ages birth through 5th grade.

Early Childhood Ministry Team (ECMT)
ECMT nurtures and cares for our youngest FoC members (birth to age 3).

  • New-baby baskets that include a Family of Christ shirt & bib
  • Annual baptism recognition Sunday in January
  • Care and staffing of our FoC nursery
  • Ministry to parents of our youngest children, including periodic dinners with guest speakers

Kids in Christ's Kingdom (KICKS)
KICKS plans and implements programming for families with children ages 3 through 2nd grade. Children learn about God's love through friendships, storytelling, and fun activities in a safe environment.

  • Sunday morning education program
  • Social events
  • Vacation Bible School opportunities

Sing 'N Serve
On the first Sunday of every month our church school is led by our youth Sing 'N Serve band. We take an opportunity to discuss our mission for the year, answering the question, "Where is your offering going?"

  • 2011-12 Church School and Christos offering will go to support "The Gathering Place" in Chaska. This ministry provides a free meal on Monday evenings to anyone in need. It's housed in St. John's Lutheran Church.
  • Collect a different food item each month for the Carver County food shelf, Bountiful Basket
  • Bright yellow banners hung on the front doors of the church are a reminder that it is Sing 'n Serve Sunday and children go directly down to the lower level.
Christos

Christos helps children in grades 3rd through 5th develop as Christians in the modern world. It teaches kids that security comes from God while providing fun and fellowship in a safe environment.

  • Wednesday evening education program
    • Year-long 3rd grade learning-the-Bible experience
    • 4th and 5th grade prep-for-confirmation study that focuses on learning from (not just telling) Bible stories.
  • Christos social events
  • Vacation Bible School opportunities
