Fellowship Committee Guidelines 2005
- Purpose of our committee:
- Encourage socialization among our church community
- Schedule ongoing events throughout the year
- Promote a variety of events (i.e., family, adult and children)
- Provide a welcoming atmosphere and community
- Encourage involvement of new members
- Committee consists of church personnel as well as members of the congregation including adult and youth
- Committee members attend 5-6 evening meetings during the year
- Committee members will also communicate via e-mail to share information/ gather feedback/request help
- The committee responsibilities are divided among the members
- All committee members are responsible for helping with larger commitments and responsibilities (i.e., Family Reunion Picnic, Advent Event)
- Event facilitators/leaders need to complete Event Overview sheet for each activity (A binder of fellowship activities will be kept in the church office.)
When Planning an Activity:
- Determine budget for event...Several events are self sustaining
- Check with Lois Groen in the church office to be sure the event is placed on the "master calendar"
- Talk with Lois Groen in regard to nursery helpers
- Talk with Tracie Peterson regarding youth helpers
- 4 weeks prior to the event;
- Request 'helpers' via the Worship Folder insert
- Encourage new members to participate
- Assign someone to be the event Greeter/Host/Hostess
- Create a 'blurb' for Table Talk as well as the weekend Worship

Deadlines:
*Table Talk (8:00 a.m. on Monday) Contact...Mike Christopherson
*Worship Folder (8:00 a.m. on Thursday) Contact...Mike Christopherson
- Track details/information that is critical to the success of planning the activity for the following year
