Upcoming Events

Softball Team Forming

Ellie and Scott Boros will be managing our Co-Ed Softball team again this season, and they are starting to pull the team together. Contact Ellie directly at elliejo12@gmail.com for more information. Games will be on Monday nights throughout the summer.

Common Thread

The next Common Thread (55+) Dinner Out will be Tuesday, May 29, at 6:00 at The Prairie Tap House (8251 Flying Cloud Drive, Eden Prairie).  Come join in for some good food and conversation.  This is a great way to meet new friends, as well as to keep up with fellow Common Threaders.  No need to sign up, just show up.

Concert by Rachel & Marin

“Please join us on June 3 from 3-5 pm in the FoC Sanctuary for Marin Leone and Rachel Rendall’s Capstone Showcase Concert. It will feature members from the FoC congregation and will have a small reception afterwards with a suggested canned goods donation for PROP. Everyone is welcome and we would love to see you there!” (Note – this was initially set for April 15, but due to a snowstorm, was rescheduled to June 3.)

Summer Worship Teams

Can you sing or play with our Summer Worship Teams?  You can join us just once if that is all your schedule allows, or join us as many times as possible.  Two pianists, Mary Renz and Andrea Zimmerman, will be helping lead our summer worship services and on those Sundays when we have a Worship Team, they’ll rehearse the group on that Sunday at 9:20 am.  Andrea Zimmerman will add an extra rehearsal on Fridays at 6:00 PM prior to her Sunday and Mary Renz will add an extra rehearsal on Saturdays at 9:00 AM prior to her Sunday.  We love to welcome new and returning musicians into these joyful summer worship services.  The first summer worship team date is June 3 with Andrea Zimmerman.  Note that there will be three ‘Summer Choir’ Sundays too, on June 17, July 15, and Aug 19. We will add a new 'Summer Bell Group' on July 15.  We also are looking for brass instrumentalists to help us with fun music on July 1, plus we’ll do a World Music Sunday on July 22 and a new Polka Service on Aug 5.

It's Hip to be Square

The FoC Quilting Ministry makes quilts for Lutheran World Relief and various Veterans programs.  Meetings are for tying quilts only.  No sewing is required, but help is always welcomed and appreciated. Join the fun for a couple of hours every other Friday afternoon, starting at 1 PM (the quilters take December off).  Oh, and there are other ways to help such as sewing squares together at home, sharpening scissors, or delivering quilts to the LWR warehouse twice a year.  For further information, contact Lynne Merrick at 952-937-8014.

Altar Flowers

A gift of flowers for Sunday worship is a lovely and meaningful way to remember a loved one, a special occasion, or a blessing received. For a very affordable $20, we will create a beautiful fresh arrangement to adorn the altar, which you may take home after Sunday worship, if you’d like. Sign up on the flower chart on the kiosk for the date(s) on which you’d like to provide flowers. Please make your check payable to “Family of Christ,” write “flowers” on the memo line, and leave the check in Marilyn Syverson’s mailbox in the church office.
